On Monday 2 June 2025 at 14:00 (CET), I dipped my hand
in the Ribeira de Têra in south-eastern Portugal,
while at the same time M dipped her hand
in the river Têt in south-eastern France.

I looked for patterns in the grass and found a track to follow.
When I crossed another trail, I changed direction,
and when I spotted another, I did so again.

For an hour I walked on,
going where something else was before,
forming a fabric of re-created movements in time.
 

I picked-up some bark from under a cork oak tree
and walked it down to the river.

I dropped the bark into the water.
It floated away and I waited
until it disappeared from sight.

I then picked up a stone
from the bottom of the river,
walked it back up again,
and dropped it under the cork oak tree.

 

Crossover

Two field recordings, on the same day 1700 km apart, edited as a crossover
to translate the physical distance
into a shift in weather conditions.
