In my garden,
I buried a microphone
50 cm underground
and recorded its sound.

• A man arrives,
  he closely observes the pond
  and continues his way.
• A site in a forest.

On 9 August 2025, around 9am, I was standing at the edge of a small pond.
I was facing M, who was standing on the other side of the pond.
The distance between us was about 30 to 40 metres.

For 45 minutes, we were completely focused on each other, mirroring each other’s movements, answering each other’s gestures, walking in equal or opposite directions.

We never got any closer,
the pond always remained between us.


The Pond was a collaborative project with Martine Viale.
It was performed at Les Étangs de Maumont (Hautefort, France).

Insoles

I stuck the map of my walk
on the insoles of my shoes.

On the left, from Temple-Laguyon to Bourlhiou,
and on the right, the way back.

 

With a stone in my hand,

I took the same walk
in opposite directions.
