Our phones were connected for 60 seconds, the speakers at full volume.
The sounds of our surroundings mingled, somewhere between us.

Neutral ground

We were on a hill among the pine trees.
We chose the best spot and we both took in a (neutral tasteless) pastille.
Silently we positioned ourselves, with our backs touching.

M concentrated on the vegetation nearby,
F concentrated on the sea in the distance,
while we remained aware of the constant shifting of our bodies, the search for balance.

Fifteen minutes later,
when the pastilles were completely dissolved in our mouths,
we stepped aside and reflected on the event.
